It's Christmas Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiime

hehe yes it has been Christmas time for a while ;)
here on the right, you can see the Christmas light on the marvellous level-crossing of my town, where I catch the train to Milan.

where I live, there is the tradition to decorate the houses on the 8th December: why?
the 8th December is a religious national holiday, so no school, no work. and in Milan also the 7th December is holiday, due to the patron saint S. Ambrogio.

so this year I haven't felt Christmas, yet. I'm still surprised when in the shops or my teachers wish me happy Christmas holidays. ihih
nontheless I decorated my room with my Nativity. Luis, who was going back to Mexico, gave me it as a gift. (Hey Luis have you seen?!?! I'm 1 year late with the picture, but as you notice I brought it to Italy, too).

But what really makes me feel that it's Christmas time????

1. the Adventkalendar: my mom always brings us "children" (me, my sister, my sister's fiancè and my dad) our calendar with windows for every December's day and with chocolate in it! while I was in Bremen I had to take it alone!! Tragedy!
2. the Coca-cola tin! what's Christmas without Santa Claus on the tins and the tv ad with the Christmas song: "vorrei cantare insieme a voi....."
3. Christmas films aired on tv: Trading places (1983), this year aired much earlier, I was so disappointed! I mean: it's tradition since I was able to remember sth! :D; When harry met Sally (1989), my favourite movie ever, I know it by heart, usually not aired on Christmas, but it's my own tradition and Home alone (1990), really really typical!!! I still remember when I asked to be brought to the cinema to watch it.
4. last but not least, Christmas carols!!! Jingle bells? NO! White Christmas? NO! here is my playlist ;)

Tarantino

heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy everybody!!!

such a long time without posting!!
what happened? well we can say that like Tarantino, who after his masterpiece "Pulp Fiction" thought he couldn't be able to repeat the success.... ihih he was right! I hope I'm not ;)

more simply I didn't have so much to post and I've been busy with my thesis. but here it is a recap of my life in Italy.

as our family tradition we celebrated Alessia's b-day (my sister) which was the 21st Oct, on the 18th Nov... hehe!

we went to "Mongolian Barbecue": we don't know if the food is typical mongolian or just full oriental, as you can find sushi, spring rolls, chicken sate... but for sure is barbecue! there is a buffet where you can choose what to eat, as much as you prefer and part of this buffet has meat, fish and vegetables that you can choose and ask the cook to grill them on a plate: it's so delicious and for me an unusual taste!!!

on the last two wednesday I attended with my sister a seminar that was in the public library of her neighbourhood. it was about Hitchcock and the international intrigues (quoting the Italian translation of the film "North by Northwest"). they also took us some pictures that you can see here (7.11.2007 incontri in biblioteca intrighi internazionali). it was really interesting even though I already studied Hitchcock and I've seen many of his films, there were some aspects that were new to me.

and what about going out? friends? I've been in touch with a girl, Lydia, who has the same professor for the thesis and she graduated! so i've been to her discussion and to her celebration, here is one of the pics. we have weird expressions because... we had confetti in our mouths ihihih
just a pill about traditions: the degree's colour is red and so the confetti's!

the (ex) Bachelor

on Wednesday 24th we had the Carbonara night: Maria (Bulgaria) and Juan Pablo in particular asked me to show them how to cook "pasta alla carbonara", and Marìa (Spain) and Victor joined, too. what makes the Italian people great? Art? Creativity? noooooooo, conquering the world with our food! :D embracing both Gandhi's "no violence" philosophy and the hippies' "make food, not war" motto ahaha

about this night there are few photos:

this series is called "the hippies and the viking"; it's up to you to choose who's the viking and who are the hippies, because.... I don't know ihih
but the important thing is.... what about that hair? where is carbonara?

ok ok, a bit of patience. this is our preparation to..... JP'S BACHELOR PARTY!!!!

so Juan Pablo was not only going back to Guatemala/Costa Rica, but he's also getting married to Daniela!

so we had to organise something special and unforgettable...

as far as JP knew we were supposed to organise a party in Lallo's house, a simple gathering with friends. that's why he was asked to come a bit earlier to spend some time with us and prepare the party.
what he didn't know was.... that the party was somewhere else and not that simple ;)

we started drinking some rum (bacardi!), to get (him) in the mood. we had to drink, too, not to reveal our real plan ihih. here starts the Zorritas' team's task!

so he is asked to go to Marìa's room and sit. on the bed there is wax, an epilator, tweezers...

of course we weren't going to epilate him. but this was a small tactic to make him accept the real plan: a bachelor party according to the German tradition that we saw in Bremen!

so here we are! first step: dressing him up as a woman.
here we show him how he is before the "treatment".

and then all the different steps to the result: Paula! or Juanita Paulita or.... the name you prefer :D

the first step was completed successfully!

second step: bring JP to the central station to meet all the other people, leaded by the Monkeys' team, that organised the rest of the evening.

when JP understood that he was supposed to go out, he offered a bit of resistance. but not that much!!! we were amazed.

as good Pygmalions, we also taught her some secrets about being a lady and how to valorize her beuty:

but here we go with the main part of the plan: The tradition!

in the central station we met all the other friends and JP was given a basket full of candies, small bottles of spirits and condoms. JP was supposed to sell them to the people we were meeting on the street.

as you can see in the pictures, JP got in the mood, and he was reaaaaally good! as it's a tradition, the people on the street were smiling, many people bought sth: how could they resist a chick like her!

then we stopped next to Domsheide (the centre) to play one of the games prepared for the night: Are you ready to leave Bremen?
this game consisted in questions about JP and his life in Bremen and the answer was hinted with the beginning letter and following the alphabetical order.

after this we went back to Freimarkt, as it would have been a perfect place to try to sell goodies.

the people there were nice and our JP version 2.0 tried to show how the improvement could be successful.

after a round, we decided to go into the Bavarian tent: here you can see the entrance with that Bavarian big doll, singing "ein prosit, ein prosit.....".
I love here how they have all these speaking and singing dolls (like the scary one and on Christmas a singing reindeer).
so in the tent we played the second game: Are you ready to get married?
the game was a variation of the game "who wants to be a millionaire?", with the 3 helps and questions about Daniela.

after this, everybody wanted to try the secret of JP as a woman: the brests and the wig.

we went dancing in magazinekeller, but no photos of that: the cameras were either full or with low battery. of course!!! it had already been a long night!

the others couldn't come, expecially JP who was at the policestation trying to find a solution for his passport: we lost his jacket the previous night :S fortunately it's Germany and... they found it!

V for Vendetta

ok I'm a bit late posting, but that means.... I had a lot of fun ;)

ok so me in Bremen: on saturday 20th we started with a nice conversation with Victor... it was spontaneous but also I had to be sure that he didn't want to go to his room while Maria was stealing his Barcelona T-shirt. well isn't it clear? for me too ihihi

in Lallo's house (the house I used to live in) there was some kind of revenge going on and I took somehow part of it, of course of the funny side ;)

here is the proof of our crime :D there is also Juan's Barcelona T-shirt, which had already been stolen. we are improving, last time on May we learnt how to force a door open!

at night we were invited to a birthday party. it was a proper one, with invitation, cakes and free drinks, all in a rented room, so not the typical erasmus/exchange students party.
here are the photos :D Marìa reached us later, because she came back from Spain at 10.30 pm and theeeeen, she couldn't miss the night with us :D

in the group we are divided in teams :D here on the left the Zorritas' team: me and the two Marias (I still think i should change my name); on the right the Monkeys' team: Juan, Victor and Juan Pablo.

after the party we wanted to go to halle 7, a pavilion of the fair, which becomes a club when there is the Freimarkt: but Flavia's curse strikes back! for the second year, we went there too late, and no more people were accepted. to go there we had to pass through Freimarkt, closed and full of spooky ghosts. The story of the desert fun park hahahaha

On sunday we had our Pyjamas day: which means comfy clothes, vegetating and chatting all day long. that's why although we celebrated all together the ferrari's victory, there are no photos to document it :)

On monday we had the Sarmì day. Sarmì it's a bulgarian meal made of grape leaves, rice, meat and spring onions accompanied by turkish yoghurt: i love it! and Maria cooked it because she knoooooooooooooows it! unfortunately there are no photos of this, too.... this just to give a clue about my conditions: i just forgot!
